Before the Euro 2020 round of 16 against Germany, the FA has extended Garet Southgate contract, no matter what happens in the next match. The decision is very rational since Gareth Southgate has done an excellent job with England national team. The 2018 World Cup in Russia was the best example of Southgate successfully taking England to the Semi-Final for the first time since 1990. Southgate has won 36 of his 57 games in charge of England, a win rate of 63%, and only Fabio Capello has achieved a higher win rate of 66.7%, who manages England for ten or more games. This excellent work has continued in Euro 2020 since they beat Germany and Ukraina with a convincing margin to bring them in the last four places.
England will play Denmark after the Danish team beat the Czech Republic. Southgate’s squad will have a home advantage with Wednesday’s semi-final at London’s Wembley Stadium.
