Five Reason Why Chelsea Makes Big Mistake by Sacking Frank Lampard

The greatest man in Chelsea Football Club, Frank Lampard, has been sacked from his position as first-team head coach and manager. Many Chelsea fans disagree with the Chelsea board, especially Roman Abramovic, regarding this decision. Here are five reasons why Chelsea should be more patient with Lampard’s progress.

Solid Ground

Modern football has become more business than sport. However, many success stories in football start with solid ground. The solid ground here is referring to the chance of academy players to play at the Senior level. Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, and Billy Gilmour are solid examples of Super Frank’s excellent jobs in his tenure as club manager. After Roman Abramovic has taken over Chelsea, this is the only time many academy players have been given a chance to play regularly.

The solid ground will be broken if the new manager cannot guarantee the playing time for the young player. In his last game as manager, Lampard gave the armband to Mason Mount and made him as the youngest Chelsea captain after John Terry. This is a simple gesture from the former Chelsea boss to give moral support for the young midfielder, who now in danger of losing his position in Thomas Tuchel’s plan. With the new manager in charge, it is interesting to see whether the Chelsea youngster will leave the club at the end of this season or not.

Favorite Figure

Lampard played for Chelsea as a player from 2001 until 2014, making 429 appearances and scoring 147 goals. He is the highest goal scorer all-time for Chelsea and 3 times awarded as Chelsea Player of the Year. In 2008, while helping Chelsea reach the Champions League final for the first time in the club’s history, he was awarded the Year’s UEFA Midfielder.

After all he does as a player, Lampard gets full support from supporters. This kind of support will be great for club finance in this long term pandemic. Since the shanking financial club can only be covered by its own fans. With Lampard’s dismissal, many Chelsea fans became skeptical with stop buying Chelsea’s official merchandise as an act of protest. How the burdens are on the Chelsea board to justify the decision to bring Tunchel in the middle of the season is the best option for the club.

Club Progress

Yes, Chelsea has scattered in the Barclays Premier League table this season. However, it is a part of transition progress since Chelsea is set to accommodate the incoming players such as Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Childwel, Thiago Silva, and Mendy. As the clubs’ backbone, the new players have appeared on Chelsea starting eleven in almost every match. Since football needs time to grow, the Chelsea team needs more patience from its board and supporters. Sadly, the board that can provide huge money for transfer does not have enough patience, unlike the Liverpool board with Jurgen Klopp.

Since time is the essential thing to adapt to the new strategy and play as a team, it’s a shame the world cannot see Chelsea become the real title contender under the leadership of their most lovely and respected legend.

Good Track

Actually, Chelsea is not that bad this season, they are not consistent in the last 5–7 games, but no team can provide consistency in this season. At the beginning of the season, both Manchester City and Manchester United got many poor results, since the board still believed in Pep and Ole, now the club showed real progress. The same time also happened to Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, and other title contenders.

Based on the current position on the Premier League table, Chelsea has a wide-open opportunity to bounce back in the title race whether the board sticks on Lampard or go with Tuchel.

Severance Cost

Roman Abramovic spent much only to pay the severance packages for the Chelsea manager. Lampard is the next to be added to the list of expenses that the Russian businessman must pay. Chelsea is a rich club. However, efficiency is the best option to survive in this difficult time. The decision to dismiss Frank Lampard will make Chelsea pay him severance pay worth £2m. It will be a small amount of money if Tuchel can bring glory to Stamford Bridge. However, it will be hard for the club financially if Chelsea finishes outside of the Champions League zone.

Above are the five reasons why Chelsea makes big mistakes by sacking Lampard. Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comment below.
